Work has been crazy this week. I missed two deadlines already and it's only Tuesday. I had to get a survey online for the staff, and due to some privacy concerns, ended up doing several things twice. I also have to absorb some staff (some willingly and some not so much) into my department this week so we can begin to move forward... something I'm REALLY anxious to do. I also have been working regular desk hours, which is fun, but eats out a chunk of the day that could otherwise be spent... I dunno... getting a survey online.
It's all coming together, though. Hopefully after tomorrow, I'll have no more working late episodes and I can actually spend time with my family. Hopefully.

Yeah, getting home before 6:00 would be nice. :-)
Well, it's Wednesday now. Just 2 more days to the weekend :)
Yeah, funny, isn't it? That I take a job a million times closer to home and now I'm getting home even LATER than I was before?!
The good news is, I just settled the matter of two of the three people I need to draft into my department. Only one more to go. And the survey is out and working. So with any luck, I'll be home on time tonight.
Although in my first four hours here I've had to put out several fires, including downloading some backup information because computers went down for about a millisecond yesterday and calling general services to come take care of the colony of ants that seem to be residing in our bookdrop.
Oh, and let's not forget the ugly million-legged centipede I had to kill in the workroom. I have never seen an uglier bug in my life. And it was large. Euw.
Did it look like this??
Home before 6:00? I don't know jobs like that existed!
They exist in my universe. I take work-life balance past the bullshit rhetoric to what it shoud be.
I don't know what frightens me more... that centipede in Jessey's house or the fact that it occured almost exactly a year ago.
Nevermind, I know what frightens me more. I think I'm gonna barf now.
Just don't barf in Walmart!
