Conversation Over an iPod

ME: *flipping forward through random shuffle on the iPod (hooked up to speakers) to bypass all of Chris' music with objectionable lyrics, themes*

ATHENA: Wait, Mommy! I like that music.

ME: *flipping back a song* What? This?

ATHENA: *dancing* Yes! That.

The song? Gangsta's Paradise. We are such good parents.

I don't think that's too bad!
Gangsta's Paradise sort of has the anti gang life vibe to it. Like, it's not coolio to be a gangster. Heh.
"Tell me why are we -- so blind to see/ That the ones we hurt -- are you and me"

Now, I shouldn't even post this because CPS will come a'knockin, but we sometimes dance around to Snoop Dogg and Pussycat Dolls and other horrifyingly objectionable garbage. Garbage that I love.
I try to bleep out the cursing by yelling over it, but sometimes it sneaks up on ya!

We have to forward through MANY tracks on my iPod. Many. My Life with the Thrill Kill Cult. 'Nuff said.

Well you could've played Amish Paradise. Talk about a song that demonstrates a hard work ethic.. fool.

Jack... we have a Zune. Chris never uses it anymore. Probably because it's not as AWESOME as my iPod. ;-)

And Brian, we do have that tune. I was tempted... but we just continued listening to whatever popped up.

You need one of the new sleek 80 gb Zune's..man they are NICE!

I have to skip over "Animals" and "Figured You Out" to the objections of my son. He's a big Nickelback fan and recognizes their music, but those lyrics just aren't the ones I want him singing on the way to school just yet.

Oh, and iPod's are way, way cooler than Zunes.
